Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Uni-V (the "App"). By creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and hold an active, valid @uncc.edu or @charlotte.edu email address to use Uni-V. We verify this email at sign-up and may re-verify it at any time. Accounts found to be ineligible will be suspended or removed.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your profile and for maintaining the security of your account. Uni-V enforces single-device sessions; signing in on a new device will sign you out of any other active session.

3. Acceptable Use

When using Uni-V, you agree not to:

• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, age, or student status.
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
• Post content that is illegal, sexually explicit involving minors, or that infringes another person's rights.
• Use the App for commercial solicitation, spam, or unauthorized advertising.
• Attempt to circumvent our .edu verification, moderation, or blocking systems.

We may remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion.

4. Uni-V Plus Subscription

Uni-V offers an optional paid subscription tier, Uni-V Plus, which unlocks additional features such as seeing who liked you. Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, auto-renew until cancelled, and are subject to the pricing shown to you at the time of purchase. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Restored purchases are supported as required by Apple and Google.

5. Content You Share

You retain ownership of the photos and content you upload. By posting content on Uni-V, you grant us a limited license to display it to other users within the App as part of providing the service. You are solely responsible for the content you post.

6. Safety

Uni-V verifies university email addresses but does not conduct criminal background checks on users. You are responsible for your own safety when interacting with or meeting other users. We recommend meeting in public places and telling a friend your plans. Use the in-app block and report tools if you encounter concerning behavior.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the App, or if your university email verification lapses.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Uni-V is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee matches, the accuracy of other users' profiles, or uninterrupted availability of the App. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Uni-V is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the App or by email before they take effect. Continued use of Uni-V after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
